The Northwest Samar State University- IOMDC-NwSSU SPECIAL ACADEMIC PROGRAM (IOMDC NwSSU-SAP) is an Extension Program of the NwSSU Main Campus of the University in collaboration with International Oriental Medical Doctors College (IOMDC) based on Continental University Centre, Inc registered and launched in 2001 to cater to the needs of Graduates and Undergraduate Education of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and foreign students thru online modality.
The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between NwSSU and IOMDC of its operation was duly approved on July 20, 2020 by the NwSSU Board of Regents per BOR Resolution No.7, s. 2020 and further confirmed thru BOR Resolution No. 76, s. 2020.
One of UNESCO's educational ideologies is to enable people to become free, capable, and creative members of society through education. One of its implementations is the accreditation of non-formal-informal learning. To implement this, each country implements a personal learning account to promote lifelong education.
Our university IOMDC aims for individual learning by giving each individual a learning account.
Academic background, career, qualifications, personal activity, training, family management, and support, military service, civil service, volunteer work, reading, awards, publications, patents, employment, and club activities are recognized and credits are awarded based on these certifications and insufficient credits is supplemented by providing online learning courses.
The form of each country is slightly different due to the characteristics of each country, but the representative countries that use the personal learning account system to revitalize lifelong education according to the UNESCO educational ideologies are Korea, the UK, Denmark, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Canada, USA, Spain, France, Singapore, etc.
